Phil Keim's "LONG TOM"   a Stinger 723 with stainless steel "T" Top and rails powered by a Honda 90

Stinger 723 has been selected by the TULLY COAST GUARD.  The boat is  used in general coastal surveillance work and in answering distress call outs in the area. The "STINGER 723"  operates from Tully in North Queensland up to 30 miles out to sea along the Great Barrier Reef north to Innisfail and south to Cardwell The vessel was supplied by Tully Boat Dealer Ross Dunlop.  Ross says the "Stinger 723" was selected by the Coast Guard after exhaustive testing of the "Stinger 723" by many of the Coast Guard Officers.  They are all impressed with the vessels speed and handling qualities, particularly in rough water conditions.

"The Coast Guard needed a fast, economical boat that could handle the rough inshore chop and be unsinkable.  The Boat needed to be easily driven to make the budget stretch further, and the Stinger 723 came up trumps" says Ross Dunlop.

The vessel was built in regulation yellow gelcoat  with centre console and 98 litres of fuel in two fiberglass tanks, self draining cockpit  floor  with marine carpet to give a comfortable non skid surface.  Large built in forward and rear lockers provide space for life jackets and other safety gear . Front anchor well has two stainless steel cleats with large bollard and bow roller while at the rear there are two stainless cleats and towing eyes.   The "Stinger" 723 is able to meet survey requirements.

The Bamaga Coast Guard ( Cape York ) and Mossman Coast Guard use Stinger 723 in their respective regions.
